Events in 2021
We haven't hosted in-person events since the pandemic began in March 2020. We hope to return to our annual in-person gatherings in time, but while we wait please join us for our virtual community conversations and events. There is a wide archive of past events, and an opportunity to register for updates and invitations to future gatherings.
STEPPIN' OUT GALA
Our annual gala dedicated to celebrating justice and freedom for all of our clients and those exonerated across Florida.
All proceeds from Steppin’ Out benefit the Innocence Project of Florida and provide critical funding for our litigation efforts on behalf of the wrongfully convicted in Florida prisons. IPF provides all expenses associated with exonerations for free. Your support will make this vital assistance available to others who are innocent, imprisoned and waiting to come home.

STAND UP FOR INNOCENCE
Our annual comedy events provide entertainment while also raising money to provide critical funding to benefit the wrongfully convicted across Florida.

So far this year, IPF has held a series of five stand-up comedy nights benefitting the Project. These events took place in Palm Beach, and Ft. Lauderdale in February 2019 and in Naples, Sarasota and Tampa in May 2019. The comedians featured were Karen Bergreen, Andy Pitz, and Owen Smith.
Karen Bergreen is a standup comedian, published novelist, and former lawyer who frequently appears on Comedy Central and performs on TV and around NYC comedy clubs.
Andy Pitz has been performing standup comedy for more than 20 years, with numerous TV appearances including on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Owen Smith is an accomplished comedian, writer, and actor who has been featured on Conan and Colbert, and has written for ABC’s Black•ish, The ESPY’s, Are We There Yet (TBS), and Everybody Hates Chris.

Thanks to all of our sponsors and supporters for making these events possible and raising support for the cause of innocence.

A TOAST TO INNOCENCE
IPF Board Chair Brian Tannebaum and his wife Lisa Tannebaum again hosted the second A Toast to Innocence at their Palmetto Bay home on April 14, 2018.

Around 120 friends and supporters attended this wine- themed event where they were able to taste and purchase dozens of wines generously donated by distributors. Wolfe’s Wine Shoppe contributed all of the proceeds from the wine sales to IPF. Attendees also took part in a wonderful wine and art auction. Exoneree Derrick Williams addressed the crowd on what was his seventh wedding anniversary.

The event was a huge success, raising more than $30,000 to support IPF’s efforts to free the wrongfully convicted. Thank you to all the sponsors, and to Brian and Lisa for your wonderful work and years of support for IPF!
